Who is CLPS?
Our Vision
During the Summer of 1998, Zachary and Deborah Henry were praying about their children and education. God led them to open a Christ-centered private school with an emphasis on science and technology. After much research, collaboration and prayer, the concept of opening a hybrid-model school fit the deeply held philosophy that parents are an essential element for student success.
Teaching Methods
CLPS incorporates classical education elements based on the Trivium, a three part approach to education consisting of grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages. Students taught using the classical approach can be characterized as creative, inventive, and thoughtful problem solvers, capable of logical debate and meaningful expository writing.
Objectives
First Aim
Our primary aim at CLPS is to glorify and honor God (1 Cor. 10:31, 1 Pet. 4:11).
Second Aim
Our second aim at CLPS is to train and encourage our students to become His disciples (Matt.28:18-20).
Third Aim
As a hybrid-model school, we will strive to strengthen the family (as the Bible defines it), as the first and primary social and educational unit instituted by God, through the educational ministry God has given us (Gen.2:18-25, Ex. 20:12, Matt. 19:4-6, Eph. 5:22-6:4).
Fourth Aim
In order that our students keep “increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men,” we aim to provide them with a high quality academic education (Luke 2:52, Prov. 1:2-7, 3:13-20, 4:1-9, 9:9, 10:14).
Fifth Aim
Inasmuch as both the home and the body of Christ share the responsibility for teaching His children, we aim to effectively and systematically integrate the home and the school in the delivery of an academic education (Eph. 4:7-16, 6:4, 1 Cor. 14:26-33, Titus 1:5).
